At the 22nd Development Forum - money show Patras 2019, the Institute of Chemical Engineering Sciences (ICE-HT) placed the "smart" solutions that are already implemented or can be implemented in the fields of environment and health, with the coordinator of the event George Fouskas, Special Operating Scientist of ICE-HT.

On October 29th, 2019, the innovative master's degree program of the University of Piraeus, with three directions, "Digital Civilization", "Smart Cities", "Internet of Things and advanced digital technologies" will begin. It aims to equip scientists from different fields, geographical areas, engineers, architects, archaeologists, historians, computer specialists, graphic designers, lawyers, etc., with a common language, a common background, to enable them to collaborate, design, manage and support innovative services, new systems, infrastructures and operations in the ever-changing new digital age" according to Professor Dimitris Vergados, Director of the program and Associate Professor of the Department of Informatics UNIPI.

The first Mobility Group of Greek University Institutions within the framework of the Erasmus+/Higher Education program, "International Mobility between Program Countries and Partner Countries" was approved for funding, with the coordinator of the Group being the University of Piraeus and the participation of the National Technical University of Athens, University of Crete, University of Crete, Panteion University of Social and Political Sciences, Democritus University of Thrace. Also participating as Social Partners are the NGO Earth Organization and the Youthmakers Hub.
