The University of Piraeus and Accenture S.A. signed a Memorandum of Cooperation, aiming to develop, through joint initiatives, individual cutting-edge skills of the University's students and graduates, aligned with the requirements of the modern local and international labour market.
Strengthening the ties between the University and the company aspires to contribute positively to the development of Greek society and economy, equipping young people with technological knowledge and important skills that will upgrade their professional future, while integrating modern business practices into the broader labour market.
Synergies and actions will be implemented within the framework of the memorandum for sectors and industries of common interest, such as, networking actions, internship opportunities for students and graduates aiming in acquiring know-how and work experience, provision of scholarships, as well as any other form of cooperation that falls within the common objectives of the two entities.
After the signing, the rector of the University of Piraeus, Professor Michalis Sfakianakis, noted, "It is our great pleasure to collaborate with Accenture, using academic knowledge as the starting point, to address some of the most important challenges that businesses and society are called upon to manage today. This collaboration will offer our students and graduates unique opportunities to live a real work environment and gain practical experience in modern methodologies, trends and technologies."

Present at the signing of the Memorandum of Cooperation were the Dean of the School of Maritime and Industry, Professor Angelos Pantouvakis, and from Accenture, Maria Economou, Financial Services Managing Director, as well as Vasso Kousanta and Telis Mamouris from the HR team.
