As part of a significant initiative to promote equality and inclusion in the workplace, the University of Piraeus has taken on a pivotal role in the national Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) program, implemented with the support of the Ministry of Social Cohesion and Family Affairs.

For the first time in the history of the competition, a Greek team claimed the 1st place at the Project Management Championship (PMC) 2025, held in Warsaw, June 6th – 7th, among top university teams from across Europe and the world.

The Computational Biomedicine Laboratory (CBML) of the Department of Digital Systems at the University of Piraeus has earned third place in the IFMBE Scientific Challenge Competition 2025, an international contest hosted within the framework of the globally significant NBC 2025 & PCBBE 2025 Conference. This remarkable achievement places the University of Piraeus among the world’s leading institutions in Biomedical Engineering innovation.

On Monday, May the 19th, 2025, at the Themistoklion Complex of the University of Piraeus, the Rector of the University of Piraeus, Professor Michael E. Sfakianakis, in a joyful ceremony, presented the awards for the Athletes of the National Men's and Women's Polo Team and the National Football Team that are students and alumni of the University of Piraeus. The ceremony took place on the Commencement day of the graduates of the Department of Business Organization and Administration of our University.

With great success and emotion, the Award Ceremony for the Outstanding Students of the first Panhellenic Student Savings Competition was held on Monday, June 23, 2025, in the Ceremony Hall of the University of Piraeus.

The unique exhibition "Chess as an Object of Art", organized for the first time in Greece by the "Lilian Voudouri" Library of the "Friends of Music" Association at Megaron the Athens Concert Hall, hosted the Chess Team of the University of Piraeus on Thursday, May 8, for a very special event.

On Wednesday, June 11th, 2025, at the Eugenides Foundation, the University of Piraeus held the honorary doctorate award ceremony of the Department of Economics, School of Economics, Business and International Studies, in honor of Mr. Georgios Zavvos, President of the Hellenic Development Bank.

The Internal Quality Assurance System (IQAS) of the University of Piraeus was evaluated by the Hellenic Authority for Higher Education (HAHE) and received the highest level of compliance in all individual quality criteria.
