The Volunteer Group of the University of Piraeus “Kerykes” and the Volunteer Action Group “u can come too” joined forces again

and completed the support campaign for the children and families of “Floga”, the Association of Parents of Children with Neoplastic Diseases, on Tuesday, April 8, with the delivery of clothes, toys and long-lasting food to the “Floga” shelter.
The goal was to bring joy to children who are fighting their own battles, as well as support their families who are by their side on this difficult journey.

For the “Kerykes” volunteers and their companions, there were intense emotional moments when the President of “Floga”, Ms. Maria Tryfonidi, spoke about the work of the Association and guided the participants through the room with the artwork of the children, who experienced this battle for their lives, some victorious and some not.FLOGA 2

It is worth noting that the Association of Parents of Children with Neoplastic Diseases FLOGA, in collaboration with the oncology departments of paediatric hospitals, hosts 50 families from all over Greece free of charge for the duration of the children's treatment, provides home care and supports families who cannot afford the costs of treatment financially.
It also works closely with doctors to improve the quality of medical care for children by participating in treatment protocols, financially contributing to the equipment and staffing of public hospitals, and participating in the National Childhood Cancer Registry.
