On Monday, September 20th, 2021, at SEF, the Graduation Ceremony of the Postgraduate Studies Program MSc in Shipping and the MSc Sustainability and Quality in Marine Industry, of the Department of Maritime Studies of the University of Piraeus, took place in the presence of local government and the business and maritime world officials.

The Minister of Maritime Affairs and Insular Policy, Ioannis Plakiotakis, expressed his joy for his presence at the Graduation of the students, describing the Department as one of the most historic and important in the country as it is connected to the real economy and the needs of shipping. Its graduates rightly enjoy a high rate of absorption by the Greek maritime community as they are characterized by professionalism, thoroughness of knowledge and conscientiousness.

The Rector of the University of Piraeus, Angelos Kotios, the Vice-President of the Hellenic Maritime Chamber, Giorgos Alexandratos, the Dean of the School of Shipping and Industry, Angelos Pantouvakis, the Deputy President of the Department of Maritime Studies, Efstratios Papadimitriou, the Director of the MSc Sustainability and Quality in Marine. Industry Fani Sakellariadou and the Director of MSc Shipping Maria Boile, greeted the graduates successively.
The Director of MSc Shipping, Professor Maria Boilé thanked the Official Guests for their presence and participation in the Graduation Ceremony and emphasized that the Department of Maritime Studies will continue its close cooperation with the representatives of the Maritime Market with the aim on the one hand of education of postgraduate students to meet the high standards of executives needed by the shipping market and on the other hand, graduates to continue to have high prospects in this important work sector.
The President of the Peace and Friendship Stadium, Mrs. Christina Tsiligiri, expressed her joy at the choice of the "Melina Merkouri" amphitheater for the Graduation Ceremony of the postgraduate students from the University of Piraeus. "The Stadium of Peace and Friendship is much more than a sports venue and the partnership with the University of our city is promising for the emergence of Piraeus as a gateway to culture."
