The delegation of E.O.A.E.N. met at the University of Piraeus with the Rector, Professor Angelos Kotios, regarding the assistance of the University through its extensive scientific training in the actions of the Chamber Group for the Development of Greek Islands (E.O.A.E.N.) on the fronts of tourism and shipping.
The University of Piraeus is positive in the synergy of scientists and society, especially the island policy being a main concern for the specific institution, since it is the central axis of the subject of study and research of the university, in the triptych, economy, shipping and tourism, but also because it is based in the leading port of Greece. At the end of the meeting, in the presence of the President of the Department of Organization and Business Administration Prof. Athanasios Kouremenos, it was jointly decided to sign a Memorandum of Cooperation between PA.PEI and E.O.A.E.N.
Saturday, March 29, within the framework of the 45th General Assembly of the Chamber Group for the Development of the Greek Islands (E.O.A.E.N.), in Lefkada, a Cooperation Protocol was signed between E.O.A.E.N. and the University of Piraeus by the heads of the two bodies by the President, Sotiris Skiadaresis and by the Rector Mr. Angelos Kotios, sealing the cooperation in matters of island policy, tourism, development, training and certification of professionals and workers.
The work of the General Assembly was attended by representatives from the 19 island Chambers of the Country - members of the E.O.A.E.N. and the Chamber of Ioannina represented by the General Secretary Mr. Vassiliou, as well as personalities from the political and academic world.
The General Assembly was graced with the presence of the Minister of Tourism, Mrs. Kountoura, and the Member of Parliament for Cyclades, Head of Labor and Social Security & Social Solidarity of the Republic of Greece, Mr. Vroutsis, who addressed a greeting.
The main topic of the General Assembly was the certified training of tourism professionals and workers.
Dr.'s Georgia Zounis position was extremely interesting. Tourism Marketing and co-founder of the Opentourism Network, on the subject of tourism professional education, which was followed by the Professor - Director of the PMS in Business Administration - Tourism Management of the University of Piraeus Athanasios Kouremenos, on the subject of the postgraduate specialization in Tourism from AEI.
