The Rector of the University of Piraeus, Professor Michael Sfakianakis and the President of the ECG, Konstantinos Kollias, in the presence of the General Secretary of the ECG, Konstantinos Papadimitriou, signed the relevant memorandum, for two years, expecting that this cooperation can lead to mutually beneficial results for both agencies.

The aim of the memorandum is the production of scientifically documented discourse on matters of common interest, which concern the social and economic life of the country.
The memorandum spreads, in the first phase, along four axes:
• In the development of tools for analyzing the economic effects of policy measures, at regional and national level, through data exchange and their processing with modern econometric techniques.
• In the preparation of scientific proposals and research programs, concerning issues of macroeconomics, finance, accounting, entrepreneurship and business administration at the European and national (central, regional or local) level.
• In the joint implementation of education, training and skills acquisition programs of ECG members, through seminars and lifelong learning programs.
• In the creation of a joint Working Group from the two parties (two people from the Economic Chamber of Greece and two people from the University of Piraeus), which will focus work on the processing of economic data and policies, focusing on the formulation of relevant assessments, proposals and analyses.
The Rector of the University of Piraeus, Michalis Sfakianakis, stated: "Extroversion and synergies are a strategic priority for our University. We are particularly proud that in the administration of the Economic Chamber of Greece there are graduates of our University and we maintain the belief that this cooperation will be mutually beneficial".
The President of the Economic Chamber of Greece, Konstantinos Kollias, stated: "The memorandum of cooperation with the University of Piraeus is another move in the direction of strengthening the extroversion of the ECG, and the constant updating of the knowledge of the economist-members of our body. The know-how that we will acquire from this collaboration will significantly help to improve the quality of the services provided to our members, as well as the proposals and studies that we prepare and submit to the state. I want to especially thank the Rector Michalis Sfakianakis for this cooperation".
