The “Green Finance and Banking Laboratory (Green FinB Lab)” of the Department of Banking and Financial Management of the University of Piraeus was awarded ISO 9001 Certificates by NBIS.

The Green Finance and Banking Lab (https://bankfin.unipi.gr/greenfinlab/), a pioneering laboratory in Greece, contributes to the integrated approach to sustainability-related issues, with significant benefits for society, the environment, businesses, banks and the economy, by bringing the academic community into closer contact with businesses, banks and State institutions and by promoting research by faculty members and doctoral students on sustainability issues.The ISO 9001 Certificates contribute to the further international recognition of the Department and the University of Piraeus.
NBIS, accredited by the National Accreditation System (ESYD) and a purely Greek Company, as a Certification Body issues Certificates that are distinguished for their validity and reliability in accordance with international and national standards.

The ceremony was attended by the President and CEO Ioannis Bertsatos, and the Director of the Certification Sector Yianna Dalakoura of the Certification Body (NBIS)
On behalf of EUCAT SA, European Center of Advanced Technologies, which offers high-level, multifaceted and integrated Technical Consulting services, present were the General Manager Anna Spanou and the Head of Strategic and Operational Planning of the company, Economist and member of the LEEM laboratory, Mr. Ioannis Michiotis.
On behalf of the Department of Banking and Financial Management present were, the member of the Board of Directors of the University of Piraeus and Director of the Postgraduate Studies Program “Financial Management of Public Organizations and Units” Professor Nikolaos Kourogenis, the Dean of the School of Finance and Statistics of the University of Piraeus and Director of the Postgraduate Programs in “Finance and Banking” and “Financial Technology”, Professor Nikolaos Apergis, the Chair of the Department and Director of the GreenFinB Lab, Professor Seraina Anagnostopoulou, the Vice Chairman of the Department and Director of the Postgraduate Studies Program “The Financial and Institutional Framework of Money and Capital Markets” Assoc. Professor Dimitrios Voliotis, the Director of the Department's Doctoral Program, Associate Professor Panagiotis Asimakopoulos, the member of the GreenFinB Lab, Associate Professor Lydia Diamantopoulou, and students of the department.
