On Monday, December 23rd, 2024, in the packed Conference Hall of the University of Piraeus, the Rector of the University of Piraeus Professor Michael E. Sfakianakis, in a solemn ceremony, awarded the outstanding graduates of the University of Piraeus, for the Academic Year 2023-24.

In his address, the Rector of the University of Piraeus Professor Michael E. Sfakianakis noted “Your award is about your excellence and your excellence is based on the two pillars that support a person. The pillar of moral values, which is inspired and the pillar of knowledge, which is cultivated are connected in a unique way in their foundations, for the University which aims to cultivate leaders for the Greek business. Aristotle complemented Plato on his leadership virtues and added to wisdom, prudence, justice and valor the jewel of leadership virtues, magnanimity. It is this virtue that makes you guard Thermopylae and makes you people of good fortune according to Heraclitus «a man's character is his fate". The University of Piraeus that implements a series of actions, some of which are unique in the Greek area and some in the pan-European area, is proud of you because you represent in the flesh what we are trying to achieve. He concluded “May this excellence of today guide you and follow you throughout your career"
