TÜV HELLAS (TÜV NORD) awarded three important certifications to the Training and Lifelong Learning Center of the University of Piraeus (kedivim), as part of the wider cooperation between the certification body and the academic institution.

The awarding of the certifications took place at the premises of the University of Piraeus, in a special event, in the presence of the Rector of the University of Piraeus Professor Michael Sfakianakis, the Director of KEDIVIM Professor Sotirios Karkalakos, the KEDIVIM Board Members Professors Foteini Asderaki, Georgios Tzavelas, Dimitrios Sampson and Alexandros Flamos, executives of TÜV HELLAS (TÜV NORD), as well as executives of Priority Quality Consultants.
Specifically TÜV HELLAS (TÜV NORD) certified the Training and Lifelong Learning Center of the University of Piraeus, according to international standards with ISO 9001 (related to Quality Management), ISO 27001 (related to Information Security Management) as well as ISO 27701 (related to Personal Data Management). The Training and Lifelong Learning Center of the University of Piraeus was supported by the specialist company Priority Quality Consultants.
The International Standard ISO 9001:2015 defines the general requirements of a Quality Management System, to which companies/organizations wishing to demonstrate their ability to provide products and/or services should be harmonized. The ISO/IEC 27001:2022 standard defines the requirements for the implementation and continuous improvement of an Information Security Management System, in organizations and businesses that want to secure their data, while the ISO/IEC 27701:2019 standard was designed in order to strengthen the existing information security management system with additional requirements, in order to develop an integrated Information Security and Personal Data Protection Management System.
These are strategically critical certifications, in regard to the security of information and especially personal data, since these are central to the operation of an academic institution of the scope of the University of Piraeus.
At the same time, the collaboration of the leading certification and training body in Greece with the University of Piraeus is part of the broader strategy of TÜV HELLAS (TÜV NORD) to support lifelong learning and the upgrading of skills across the spectrum of academic and professional education.
It is noted that the Center for Education and Lifelong Learning of the University of Piraeus carries out every activity of the University and its members, concerning education, continuing education, training, and in general Lifelong Learning. KEDIVIM organizes and carries out study programs of non-formal education, which lead to the awarding of corresponding certificates, as well as any type of project related to Lifelong Learning.
