In the context of the strategic initiatives for extroversion and international presence of the University of Piraeus, Professor and Director of the Program, Yiannis A. Pollalis, accompanied by experienced teaching staff, and a group of 35 postgraduate students, of the M.Sc. "Economics & Business Strategy", held an Educational Tour in Boston, USA, with the aim, among other things, of enhancing the professional prospects of its students, through a dynamic combination of academic excellence and practical experience.
Graduate students had the opportunity to attend unique lectures from leading universities such as the University of Massachusetts, MIT Sloan School of Management, Harvard Business School, MIT Computer Science & Artificial Intelligence Laboratory, Roger Williams University, Brown University - Nelson Center of Entrepreneurship.
At the MIT Sloan School of Management lectures were held by Mr. David Birnbach, Mr. Stu Krusell, Mr. Kosta Ligris and Mr. Jake Cohen, under the kind hospitality of Ms. Becca Souza and Mr. Kosta Ligris. Students had the unique opportunity to attend lectures on contemporary business issues, global market trends and new Management practices using experiential learning methodologies. Informative and innovative lectures enriched the program of the academic trip, enhancing the students' critical thinking and their innovative approach to modern business. The rich experience and extensive expertise of the professors acted as a catalyst to encourage and inspire the students, broadening their horizons of knowledge, strengthening their professional prospects, as well as their future academic prospect
At the CSAIL research laboratory, the award-winning Dr. Manolis Kellis, held a unique and innovative lecture on the field of artificial intelligence (AI) and its applications in the business world.
The Honors Dr. Kellis has received from leading institutions and organizations recognize his dedication and excellence in the field and include the Presidential Early Career Award for Scientists and Engineers (PECASE), the National Science Foundation Career Award (NSF CAREER ), the Sloan Research Fellowship, the Gregor Mendel Medal for Outstanding Achievement in Science from the Mendel Lecture Committee, the Athens Informatics Institute (AIT) Victory Award for Science and Engineering, the Ruth and Joel Spira Teaching Award, as well as the George M. Sprowls Award for the best doctoral dissertation in Computer Science at MIT.
This lecture was a unique opportunity for the students to explore the use and usefulness of one of the most critical digital technologies of our time, that of Artificial Intelligence, leaving them inspired by the unique and impressive way of teaching Dr. Kelli and opening new channels of knowledge and professional prospects in Greece and abroad.
Moreover, the students had the unique opportunity to visit and gain practical knowledge from leading companies of an international reputation, as well as to meet and exchange views with senior executives of the American companies AMAZON, INSURIFY and TILEDB. 
This experience was valuable in the formation of networks aiding the professional development of students in the USA. The M.Sc. "Economics & Business Strategy" of the Department of Economic Sciences, within the context of the extroverted strategy of the University of Piraeus, leads the way, cultivating partnerships with internationally recognized universities and world-renowned companies. By integrating academic knowledge and practical experiences from the international market, the OES PMS program shapes the future leaders of today's business world.
