On Friday, December 22, 2023, in a solemn ceremony, in the Conference Hall of the University of Piraeus, the Rector of the University of Piraeus Professor Michael E. Sfakianakis, awarded the outstanding graduates of the University of Piraeus who demonstrated the highest level of academic excellence for the School Year 2022-23.

In his opening address, the Rector congratulated the graduates and their families, whose support is decisive, both for the optimal academic path of their children, and for their excellent performance during their studies.This award, he emphasized, is the effective support of excellence, a central value for our University and a multiplier of value in the common goal of development and progress, both personal and of our society. We encourage the pursuit of knowledge, education and noble competition. We aim that this specific award will be a motivation for you to continue your successful path in the educational field and you can be sure that the University of Piraeus will always be by your side and will support your efforts on an educational, cognitive and professional level.
Professor Dimosthenis Kyriazis, the Vice-Rector of Research and Lifelong Education delivered a greeting of the students as well. Present at the award ceremony, were the Vice-Chancellors, Deans, Chairs of Departments, Professors of the University of Piraeus and parents, relatives and friends of the awarded graduates.

The “Excellence Awards” were established this year for the first time and are an important initiatUNIPI ARISTOI 2ive of the Rectoral Authorities, in collaboration with the Research Center of the University of Piraeus. They honor the best performance for the previous academic year, of the first three male and female students from each of the ten Departments of the four Faculties of the University, a total of thirty graduates, and were accompanied by a cash prize.
