Among other things, the cooperation memorandum provides:
► The implementation of actions and practices, for sectors and branches of common interest, for the benefit of the development of employment opportunities
► Carrying out joint networking actions with the innovation ecosystem
► The provision of advisory support and guidance (mentoring) by EY to the University, in matters of start-up entrepreneurship and innovation
► The provision of scholarships to students or members of the University, for the preparation of postgraduate, doctoral and post-doctoral theses related to the subjects of interest of the University and EY.
The cooperation of the two organizations creates the conditions for a more active connection of the University with the labor market, the joint support and creation of structures to support start-up entrepreneurship at the University through EY's extensive experience with the innovation ecosystem, while it will also give students the opportunity of the University to gain work experience and utilize their studies in practice.

The Rector of the University of Piraeus, Professor Michael Sfakianakis, stated:
The University of Piraeus supports start-up entrepreneurship and innovation, having created graduate departments that approach this entrepreneurial activity at a conceptual, practical and research level. The Greek startup ecosystem tends to gradually become a promising pillar of the Greek economy with fast and healthy growth. The collaboration with EY will certainly contribute to the faster and more efficient integration of more companies with similar characteristics and will lead many of them towards internationalization.

On the occasion of the signing of the memorandum of cooperation, the Managing Director of EY Greece, Mr. Giorgos Papadimitriou, stated: "For years, EY has highlighted the need for substantial connection and closer cooperation of Greek entrepreneurship with the educational institutions of the country, with the aim of alignment of the labor market with the current requirements and the new development needs of Greece. We serve this belief in practice, promoting collaborations with important educational and research institutions of the country, and at the same time giving internship opportunities to students and graduates.
In this context, I am particularly happy about the signing of the memorandum of cooperation with the University of Piraeus, an educational institution that has developed significant know-how and is a leader in promoting innovation. The signing of the memorandum lays the foundations for a wider cooperation and interaction between the two organizations, especially in matters of start-up entrepreneurship, which we expect to create special added value for the labor market, and the wider economy"
