ΕEU and Cohesion Policy:
Attica through the eyes of students and professionals within the framework of the program "Regio Gnosis - Information for the cohesion policy in Greece" by the European Commission, implemented with the coordinator of the University of Patras, and partners the University of Piraeus and the Observatory Road Axes of Western Greece and Peloponnese.


The project aims at actions to increase information, especially among young people, about the projects financed by the EU within the framework of the Cohesion policy, as well as their awareness of the social and economic effects of these projects.
The opening of the event was addressed by Professor Athanasios Kouremenos, President of the Department of Business Administration and Director of the Master's in Business Administration - Tourism Management, which connected the progress in infrastructure projects with the country's human resources and education.
Afterwards, the President of the Athens Development and Tourism Promotion Company (EATA), Mrs. Melina Daskalaki presented the work of EATA for the promotion of the city and welcomed such student initiatives to study and make proposals for the improvement of Athens.

The floor was taken by Ms. Athina Nella (Economic Advisor at the Institute of Education Policy), who spoke about the Social and Economic effects of the projects implemented by the Institute of Education Policy of the Ministry of Education and Religion.
The next speech was by Mr. Panos Giokas (Mentor Co-founder & CEO) on the topic of Attica and Culture, who spoke about actions that contribute to sustainable development through the promotion and utilization of intangible and material cultural resources, as well as contemporary artistic creation.

The next speaker was Themis Papadimopoulos (Co-founder, OpenTourism, Founder Visit Plaka) who, on the topic of Acropolis and Tourism, spoke about his research on tourists and professionals of Plaka and how the results guide the actions of http://www.visitplaka. com/, a portal that aspires to provide those planning a visit to Athens with an agenda that includes personal guidance, transportation, customized packages, private events, and support for any kind of event.
The following are the presentations by students of the Department of Tourism Studies who presented, after thorough secondary research within the framework of their courses, proposals for Attica for 3 groups of tourists: heritage tourists, festival lovers, and families with small children!
