At the Eugenides Foundation in Athens, on Wednesday June 5th, the rector of the University of Piraeus, Professor Angelos Kotios, attended the Greek Shipping Summit: "2020: The wind of Change in Global Shipping" as part of the Sea Days event.

The conference was organized by the online maritime newspaper "TheSeaNation" with the support of the Hellenic Shipowners' Association and its aim was to explore the changes that 2020 marks in global shipping.
Greetings were addressed by Mr. Fotis Kouvelis, Minister of Maritime Affairs and Insular Policy, Mr. Yiannis Plakiotakis, representative of the president of the Greek Democratic Republic, Mr. Leonidas Dimitriadis-Eugenidis, president of the Eugenides Foundation and ambassador of the IMO in Greece.
The guest speakers were Ms. Nusrat Ghani, MP for Wealden and Transport & Maritime Minister UK and Mr. Giorgos Pateras, President of the Maritime Chamber of Greece. The keynote speaker was Mr. Theodoros Veniamis, president of the Greek Shipowners' Union, Mr. Dimitris Fafalios, President of Intercargo, Mr. Yasuhiro Shimizu, Ambassador of Japan in Athens and Mr. Panos Xenokostas, President and CEO of ONEX SHIPYARD.
