The Conference "STRATEGY AND ENERGY. Conflicts and coincidences of interests in Eurasia" was organized in Piraeus, May 13 - 14, by the Turkish and Eurasian Studies Laboratory and under the auspices of the Department of International and European Studies of the University of Piraeus.

The region of Eastern Europe, the Caucasus and the Caspian is gaining more and more interest at a strategic and energy level. These regions are not only a field of important geopolitical developments but also a field of critical geostrategic choices in terms of energy and strategy.
How does the Eastern Mediterranean affect issues of energy security and diplomacy in the international arena? What role does Turkish foreign policy play in the Middle East? How are the economic-energy relations developing in Eurasia and finally what are the emerging energy challenges at the international level?
The Rector of the University of Piraeus Professor Angelos Kotios addressed a greeting marking the beginning of the works on the evening of Monday, May 13, at the "Historical Library" of the Aikaterini Laskaridis Foundation, and the work continued on the morning of Tuesday, May 14, in the Conference Hall of the University of Piraeus with a greeting, addressed by Professor Michalis Sfakianakis, Dean of the School of Economics, Business and International Studies.
In the sessions of the first day, the presentations conered issues of strategy and energy in the changing international environment of Eurasia, energy security and diplomacy in the Eastern Mediterranean, as well as measurement, delineation and forecasting of energy policy issues. While the sessions of the second day presented research on Turkish foreign policy issues in the Middle East, international economic and energy relations, as well as global energy challenges in the light of geopolitics and market trends.

Also presented at the conference was research from the Turkish and Eurasian Studies Laboratory students, as well as the Energy and Environmental Policy Laboratory students.
