The works of the 104th Hellenic Universities Rectors' Conference, which was held from December 12 to 15, at Divani Apollon Palace & Thalasso, Vouliagmeni, Athens were completed on Friday, December 15, 2023.

The University of Piraeus participated in the 104th Session, with the rector Professor Michael Sfakianakis and with the Vice-Rectors of Research and Lifelong Learning Professor Demosthenes Kyriazis, Finance, Planning and Development Professor Stella Sofianopoulou, Academic and Administrative Affairs and Student Affairs Associate Professor Spyros Roukanas, International Relations and Extraversion Professor Georgia Verropoulou as well as Evangelia Sideri from the University of Piraeus Research Center.
Issues of concern were discussed during the Sessions, such as the reduction of bureaucratic procedures, the simplification of the procedures in the Special Research Funds Accounts (SRA), the approval of the HEI Organizations, the understaffing of the Universities in teaching and administrative staff, the malfunctions created by the application of the current legislation in the process of Rector Elections as well as issues related to the feeding and housing of students.
On Friday the 15th the session included Minister Kyriakos Pierrakakis and the General Secretary of Higher Education Odysseus Zoras of the Ministry of Education, Religious Affairs and Sports .The Minister announced the strengthening of Universities through the regular budget and the Recovery Fund with actions such as Universities of Excellence, Internationalization, Research Excellence Partnerships.
Participating in the sessions were, Secretary General for Fiscal Policy Paulina Karasiotou, the Secretary General of Public Administration, Greek Ministry of Interior Dimitris Kirmikiroglou, Special Secretary for EU/ESF Programmes, Ministry of Development, Niki Dandolou, Higher Education Professor Periklis Mitkas, the President of Youth and Lifelong Learning Foundation Anna Rokofillou and officials of the Ministry of Education, Religious Affairs and Sports, among others.
