At the 22nd Development Forum - money show Patras 2019, the Institute of Chemical Engineering Sciences (ICE-HT) placed the "smart" solutions that are already implemented or can be implemented in the fields of environment and health, with the coordinator of the event George Fouskas, Special Operating Scientist of ICE-HT.
The activities of ICE-HT in the fields of nanotechnology, advanced materials, environment, energy, life sciences and biotechnology were presented by Vasilios Burganos, Director of ICE-HT.

Also analyzed were "smart" tools for monitoring air quality in cities with the development of innovative instruments and know-how of ICE-HT exported to other countries, the management platform for smart buildings and cities that contributes to energy savings, reducing maintenance costs, improving of the safety of the inhabitants and the transformation of Greece into a technology innovation hub by 2021.
Professor Ilias Maglogiannis, Director of the Laboratory of Computational Biomedicine of the University of Piraeus and Technical Director of the SISEI Project, analyzed the various possibilities that the utilization of Electronic Health and Emotional Computing Technologies gives in the support of long-term patient hospitalization in Recovery and Rehabilitation Centers.
In particular, Professor Ilias Maglogiannis presented the SESEI project, which concerns the creation of a prototype system of innovative services that will be addressed to patients who reside for a long period of time in Recovery and Rehabilitation Centers. The system will provide, among other things, communication, medical monitoring and emergency response services, as well as information and entertainment functions. In addition, innovative emotional computing capabilities will be added, as well as games with a serious purpose, based on the needs of Recovery/Rehabilitation (KAA-KN) in-patients. The innovative system that will be implemented will take the form of a bedside information, entertainment and information system (hospital bedside infotainment).
