In a move of strategic importance, the University of Piraeus and the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center (SNFCC) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at strengthening their collaboration in the fields of education, scientific research, and innovation.
The agreement was signed by the Rector of the University of Piraeus, Professor Michail Sfakianakis, and the CEO of the SNFCC, Ms. Elly Andriopoulou, marking the beginning of a new era of synergies designed to leverage scientific knowledge for the benefit of society.
The partnership includes the joint design and implementation of educational and training programs, collaborative participation in national and European funding programs, shared use of scientific personnel and technical infrastructure and the development of cutting-edge research facilities in key fields.
A highlight of the collaboration is the hosting of a high-performance computing system for Artificial Intelligence (AI) applications at the SNFCC’s data center, which will support the needs of the University of Piraeus Research Center.
Both institutions emphasize that this agreement reflects their shared commitment to promoting academic excellence, advancing scientific and technological innovation, and ensuring the diffusion of knowledge throughout society.
The initiative is expected to foster ground-breaking projects, enhance youth education, and promote entrepreneurship.
