The volunteer group of the University of Piraeus "Kerykes" was present at the holding of the emblematic Vartzakis race, in honor of the Piraeus runner Christos Vartzakis, which this year was named PIRAEUS PORT RUN and was held for the first time with 3 routes, 1000 meters for children, 5 and 10 kilometers for adults.
More than 1,800 runners, athletes of all ages, from professional runners to families with children, ran along the Piraeus waterfront, Piraiki and Pasalimani, offering unique images, starting and finishing in front of the Municipal Theater.
Our volunteers were present, assisting young and old athletes in every way, at the start, at the finish, at the awards ceremony, but also along the three routes where they effortlessly and tirelessly provided whatever the athletes needed.
Volunteering strengthens our university community and city, as well as our overall social sustainability. Our volunteers provide important work and we thank them for that.
