The presentation of "EN.I.R.I.S.S.T." the Intelligent Research Infrastructure in Shipping, Supply Chain, and Transport took place on September 18, 2019 at the Eugenides Foundation in Athens.

The Research Infrastructure is co-financed by Greece and the European Union, through the Operational Program "Competitiveness - Entrepreneurship - Innovation" of the NSRF 2014-2020. It united 11 leading academic and research institutions under the coordination of the Aegean University to cooperate for this event, which brought together dozens of researchers and the presence of high-ranking officials and institutions of shipping and transport services for this workshop.
Dr. Anthi Katsirikou Head of the UniPi Library and Professor Ioannis Theotokas of the UniPi Department of Maritime Studies participated in the "Shipping and Environment" session, which was coordinated by Professor Eleni Thanopoulou, Deputy Coordinator of the Research Infrastructure in the Aegean University, at the Department of Shipping, Trade and Transport. and Alexandra Gogou, Researcher at the Hellenic Center for Marine Research.
EN.IRISST is a pioneering research infrastructure that combines data collection and processing, the creation of innovative models and programming techniques, the development of useful applications, safe and user-friendly, and finally the development of digital observatories to support public stakeholders and the private sector (companies, public bodies, research organizations, etc.). The EN.I.R.I.S.S.T. mission is to become a center that will promote and support research in the fields of shipping, supply chains and transport.
