The University of Piraeus, in collaboration with the Centre for Business Analytics in Practice (Surrey Business School, United Kingdom), hosted the International Conference on Business Analytics in Practice (ICBAP 2025) from August 24 to 27.

This year’s theme, “Machine Learning & AI in Business”, highlighted the latest developments in artificial intelligence and data analytics, bringing together academics, industry experts, and students from around the world. The conference served as a hub of innovation and collaboration, showcasing the transformative power of data analytics in shaping smarter, data-driven strategic decisions across sectors.
The Rector of the University of Piraeus, Professor Michail Sfakianakis, welcomed the distinguished guests, emphasizing the University’s leading role in the fields of economics, business administration, and technology. He highlighted its long-standing tradition of excellence in research and education, particularly in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Data Science, and Business Analytics, supported by strong international partnerships.
The Rector underlined that data analytics and artificial intelligence are powerful tools transforming industries and decision-making processes, reaffirming the University’s commitment to bridging theory with practice. He noted that hosting ICBAP 2025 is fully aligned with the University’s mission to foster innovation, interdisciplinary research, and meaningful dialogue between academia and industry. At the same time, he invited participants to explore both the scientific program and the vibrant cultural identity of Piraeus.
The four-day conference provided a unique platform for the exchange of research findings, innovative practices, and emerging technologies shaping the future of business decision-making. Participants had the opportunity to network, present papers, and engage in collaborative sessions focused on real-world applications of business analytics, within a multi-thematic event featuring keynote speeches, parallel sessions, and an industry panel with the participation of distinguished academics from around the globe.
Accepted papers will be published in a Springer Scopus-indexed volume, showcasing innovative research in data analytics and business applications.
