A powerful voice against gender-based and domestic violence

Under the motto “We stand strong for equality”, the 4th “Strong Me” Festival returned to the Peace and Friendship Stadium (SEF) from 19 to 21 September 2025, transforming Piraeus into a hub of action, art, and social awakening. Dedicated to the prevention and combat of gender-based and domestic violence, the festival served as a collective act of empowerment and awareness, uniting citizens, institutions, organizations, and artists around a shared purpose — the promotion of equality and respect for every human being.
The University of Piraeus took an active part with an information and action booth, presenting its initiatives aimed at promoting gender equality, inclusion, and social cohesion. Students, faculty members, and visitors engaged in discussions and open dialogue on the need for collective responsibility against violence, equal access to knowledge, and genuine empathy towards every individual, especially children and young people. The University’s participation highlighted the role of education as a driving force for social change, demonstrating that academic institutions can actively contribute to building a society free from discrimination and inequality.
